All I Ever Wanted

Born and raised in the north pole snow
Where the cheer is high and the temps are low
And the narwhals swim and the snowmen sing
And every pair of my sneakers has a bell that rings

There is a standard for a guy like me
To follow in the footsteps of my family
And work in the shop run by good Saint Nick
But that's not the kind of job that I would ever pick

You see I'm an elf and elves make toys
For all the good girls and all the good boys
But I'm not the kind of elf just to fall in line
I've got a different dream that's been on my mind

Reading up on a trade we need
Because of all the cocoa and the sweets we eat
I'm never gonna build a truck or a doll
I'm not a toy maker I've gotta make my own call

One day I ran away thought they'd all be glad
After missing elf practice man they got so mad
I guess I'm just a misfit not fit for it

Went on my way as the story goes
And met a reindeer with a really messed up nose
But I never judged him because he seemed sincere
And never said a word about my chosen career

We met a man in the cold talking silver and gold
If I can be honest with you man that topic got old
But he saved us more than once from a terrible fate
Abominable trouble that would not have been so great

He was relentless wouldn't leave us alone
I knew I had to do something had to send him back home
Make no mistake I'm an elf not weak
I made a bumble mumble cause I took all his teeth.
